How many flowers does a tulip plant produce??

I am planning to grow tulips in my garden. The flowers look beautiful but I have really not seen a second flower growing (after the first flower dies or breaks). I want to know how it works. After the first flower blossoms and dries up, do more flowers grow on it one after the other or the plant then is a total waste??

The tulip bulb will only produce one flower per year. There is a trick to it and it’s important that you follow these steps: once your tulip flowers have faded, snap off the flower stem BUT leave the foliage/leaves to die back naturally. It’s not pretty, but they turn yellow and then brown. That helps the bulb store energy for next years tulip blooms.

If you purchased a tulip that naturalizes (it will tell yon on the bag if this tulip naturalizes), the tulip bulbs will grow “babies” giving you more flowers next year. The flowers are greatly increased if you divide the bulbs every 2-3 years. Once you see the bulbs emerge, fertilize with a bulb fertilizer and fertilize again once the foliage dies away in late Spring.

no other flowers. one flower per bulb. then u have to cut flower and leave leaves till they wilt in autumn. that’s why people plant bulb with roses or other later plants – they will cover leaves which u should not cut

you can vote for yourself, especially for questions no one else answered. or you can say what the asker wants to hear and hope they chose you, that works best in the religion and gender studies sections.

If you mean the tulip poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera) then the tree is not drought tolerant. It will drop leaves earlier in a dry year or in hot summers and insufficient shade on their root area. Even on a wet year they drop leaves in a short period compared to oaks or beech.

You mentioned wanting to save money on your flowers. Have you considered using silk/artificial flowers? It is much more affordable and you can keep your bouquet. That is what we are doing for ALL of our flowers. :)
    Good Luck! :)

Mid winter, its amazing, tulips love the ice and cold!
Just kidding, it depends on the weather that year but where I come from in the US we have an annual tulip festival that actually boasts more tulips than you'll see in Holland. Its really amazing to see. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is between March and April usually, like I said, depends on the weather that year.

“For example, 23% of women purchase Valentine’s Day flowers for themselves”.

This statement is obviously false. You meant to say, “Of all the flowers sold for Valentine's Day, 23% of the flowers purchased were by women purchasing the flowers for themselves”.

You make it sound like 23% of the women in this country purchase flowers for themselves on Valentine's Day. That would be roughly 36 million women…an obviously incorrect number.

They are the same thing except for the fact a live certificate of birth is done at the time of said birth so if anything holds more weight then a birth certificate though a birth certificate has more info. Also the fact, the state of Hawaii while keeping certificates of live birth public, has NO ONES "birth certificate" available for public view, Obama included. Funny birthers

In Oklahoma, the laws are different from other states. In Connecticut, as in probably Hawaii, you don't need a birth certificate to obtain a license, it's just a commonly used form of ID

Venus Fly Traps- As cool as a Venus Fly Trap are my TickleMe Plants. Easy to grow they close their leaves and lower their branches when tickled, then they open up ten minutes later (not ten days like my fly traps). My students run to homeroom to tickle them. Cool pink cotton candy flowers just search The TickleMe Plant to get a greenhouse kit to grow your own. It might freak out your friends when they see it!!! Great gift for any plant lover – carnivorous or not.
